There’s a funny story about this sculpture. I had no particular reason for creating it other than my wish to have a real health and vibrant lady that I can glaze at seating at my studio. After I finished creating the sculpture in clay, I went over to a workshop to have it molded in polyester. When the man in the workshop saw her, he was dumbstruck; he couldn’t speak for a few seconds. When he came to his senses, he told me that she looked exactly like a long-lost girlfriend he had who was called Valentina. I was genuinely moved by his reaction and decided to name the sculpture after this man’s former girlfriend.

She now sits safely in my studio, peacefully watching me every day.
